The manual production of handiwork products
and their sale has long been a part of the Associação Comunitária
Monte Azul. This area embodies:
- two doll workshops in which a total
of 12 people earn their living through the production of a diverse
array of cloth dolls.
- Two carpentries in which children’s
furniture and wooden toys are manufactured.
- A paper recycling workshop in which
various products consisting of hand-made paper are fabricated.
We also send a selection of our doll and
paper products to Europe and the USA. This has proven successful,
especially in the case of the dolls, which have become incredibly
popular in some "fair-trade"-stores and Christmas markets
of Waldorf Schools. The proceeds benefit the social work of Monte
Azul and often cover the income of entire families.
